MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- Russia exported 148,000 barrels of oil per day to the U.S. in the week from February 25 to March 4, as seen by PRIME in a statement of the U.S. Department of Energy on Wednesday.

In the week from February 18 through 24, the U.S. did not import any Russian oil for the first time since January.

Canada, Saudi Arabia and Mexico were the top-3 exporters of oil to the U.S. in the period with 3.63 million barrels, 701,000 barrels and 412,000 barrels per day.

On Tuesday, the U.S. imposed a ban on imports of Russian oil, some oil products, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and coal. Afterwards, the U.K. announced that it would stop importing oil and oil products from Russia by the end of 2022.
